I Rode On 03:34
When I found this road I didn't know how long But the wind was at my back, So I rode on And when the night began to fall I never saw the dawn But the wind was at my back So I rode on I know the town that I call home Won't be the same for long But the wind is at my back So I'll ride on Bridge: When it blew in from the north and brought the cold bite of winter I rode on And when she wouldn't have me near though I tried and tried to win her I rode on I know the road is dark And the night is long But the wind is at my back So I'll ride on

Hammer 03:31
Chorus: This world is made of stone And I hold the hammer This world is made of stone, And I hold the hammer I am not a master of this form Nor a ruler of the land But I have had the fortune to be born With a hammer in my hand Chorus These woods are lovely dark and deep but I have promises to keep my friend As long as I keep two in line my step will ne'er be out of time and this road will never end Chorus I am not a master of this form Nor a ruler of the land But I have had the fortune to be born With a hammer in my hand And this path I carve of living wood And it grows with me Chorus 2x

Nevermind 03:18
There's a song I have to write I know it has to be tonight This is gonna be the one I swear There's a word I have to say My lips were working yesterday This is gonna be the one I swear Oooooh There's a girl I have to meet Behind the counter down the street My coffee is black, but her smile is so sweet This is gonna be the one I swear Nevermind... Say the words and I'll repeat And hope that yours is right for me This is gonna be the one I swear Nevermind...

Dawn 03:35
Aint no golden road before me Aint no wind that's at my back Aint no pretty girl beside me Sky's a painted black And the ice beneath my feet is almost thick enough to stand But I'd be dreaming if I called it land Aint no golden road before me Aint no burdens at my back Aint no pretty girl beside me Sky's a moanin' black And the ice beneath my feet is almost thick enough to stand But I'll be sinking Cause that good sun's a risin' it'll be here soon I know it by that sliver near the dark side of the moon and I Only hope there's time enough to finish out the tune that I'll be singing Won't you come on soon Aint no golden road before me Aint no wind that's at my back Aint no pretty girl beside me Sky's a painted black And the ice beneath my feet is almost thick enough to stand But I'll be sinking, Cause that good sun's a risin' I can feel it come I feel it in the shiver in the ground I'm standing on and I Only hope there's time enough as I look out upon the darkness leaving To know the dawn

Many Voices 02:57
Morning Early Morning And the many voices whisper in my ear Tell me things that I wanna hear In the Morning Daydreams Sipping Daydreams And the tired thoughts that follow me to bed Speaking to me softly in my head In the Morning ooooh Simple Oh it's Simple Just like breathing in and breathing out are one Every creature needs the sun In the Morning Morning Early Morning How many times will I lay down tonight Before I am ready for bed? How many times will I turn out the light, Till the lights have all gone in my head? ooooh

There's a lot of voices telling you no And you're tryna find a place you can go But you're the man! And any other man just wouldn't know And the mighty might look like they're strong But they can't hold their poses for long Cause you're the man! And any other man would do it wrong And the mountains might look like they're tall But you know you're not seeing it all Cause you're the man! And any other man is bound to fall And the demons may gather around, But you'll tell them you're standing your ground Cause you're the man! And any other man deserves his crown Any other man could feel the same Any other man could feel like he was playing someone else's game Or like his hand was made stronger than his chains And the sun will go down every day But your mothers and fathers will stay Cause you're the man! And any other man can say the same. Lad'n da daht dee daht'n da Lad'n da daht dee daht'n da HEY! Lad'n da daht dee daht'n da Lad'n da daht dee daht'n da HEY! Any other man could feel the same Any other man could feel like he was playing someone else's game Or like his hand was made stronger than his chains And the sun will go down every day But your mothers and fathers will stay Cause you're the man! And any other man can say the same.

about

Mountains and Other Faraway Things - Many Voices
The album cover is a shattered mirror. A mirror which still sits on the passenger side of songwriter, Elliot Liebman’s car. “I’ll get it fixed when we release the second album,” he chuckles. It’s a reminder. That looking back is futile. That the old world is gone. Mountains and Other Faraway Things watches that mirror shatter.
This album chronicles the struggle of a young man as he emerges from his suburban cocoon into an unexpectedly indifferent world. It is the story of many young people from this generation, but also the timeless question: How do we find ourselves in a world that doesn’t seem to care who we are? Many Voices takes us on a psychological journey: from the brash optimism of “Hammer” through the crippling indecision of “Nevermind” and into the deep confusion that finally forces the mirror to break.
This change happens as “Dawn” gives way to “Many Voices.” The listener arrives in a frozen purgatory, his only consolation, the rising sun, which is sure to melt the very ground on which he stands. And then it arrives with a dissonant crash, and the haunting vocal, “morning... early morning”
Mountains are perpetually distant, but when you start the climb, the perspective begins to change. Such is the message of ‘Any Other Man,’ the album’s anthemic climax. This song is a celebration of universal struggle, whose gang-vocal shout chorus breaks the isolation felt in the rest of the album. In searching for yourself it’s easy to lose sight of the people around you, but hey, “Any other man could feel the same.”
Looking closely at the back cover, you’ll notice the same mirror as the front, with one key difference. The focus has shifted, bringing the sunset into view, the cracks, barely visible in the glass. “When your worldview is breaking, you have no choice but to change your perspective” Liebman says. With this debut album, Mountains and Other Faraway Things, Many Voices takes you through the darkest places you know, and brings you into the light on the other side.

With lyrics, “Simple but compelling”, and a sonic palette “shifting from large and symphonic to a limited vocabulary of singer and guitar... [Many Voices] impresses with all that can be said in this... language”
-Ear To The Ground Music
